NATVAR BHAVSAR

Natvar Bhavsar was born in 1934 in India. He came to America in 1962 and studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained an MFA in 1965. He has lived and worked in New York since 1965.

He has been collected by major museums and corporations including: Boston Museum of Fine Arts; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia; American Express Company; AT & T; Chase Manhattan Bank, New York; NBC, New York; Olympia and York, Toronto.

Bhavsar’s work has been mentioned and commented on by countless reviewers. Two books are worth noting, “Natvar Bhavsar: The Sound of Color” by Robert C. Morgan and “Natvar Bhavsar: Painting and the Reality of Color” by Irving Sandler. Both are available at the Mira Godard Gallery.
