I describe myself these days as sketching with my cameras and infra-red film produces images that appear painterly, creating a new take on a familiar subject with glowing light and almost surreal quality.

JANE HINTON was born in Victoria, British Columbia and raised in Toronto, She began by drawing and painting at St. Martin’s College of Art in London, England and later at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. Her knowledge of classical and contemporary art became the foundation for the experimentation with the camera and the development of her unique multi-frame images, and her most recent infra-red photographs.
Jane Hinton has travelled with her camera throughout France, Spain, Italy, Canada and the United States. She has exhibited internationally and her work is found in collections around the world including the Museum of Fine Art, Houston; Helmet Gernsheim Collection, Switzerland; Southeast Missouri Regional Museum, Missouri; A.F. Philips Collection, Eindhoven, Holland; Emprise Bank, Wichita, Kansas; T.D. Bank Financial, Toronto; Bennett Jones, Toronto; R.B.C.
